Oscar Herrero explains in detail the different components of the Alegría in the key of C and A, tonalities which are often used to accompany the cante por Alegrías. Each of the elements is then studied separately both slowly and at normal speed.
The contents are generous, since the given exercises are aimed at every level of guitarist, from a minimum technique to advanced.

  • The art of playing Spanish guitar: you will play this instrument with both hands, the left hand should be loose and free to play until the last fret. The right hand handles the guitar and should be situated close to the center, because this is the place where the sound is soft and agreeable. Do not play on the “top” of the guitar, which is normally used to play barbers style.
