They are composed of layers of black and red paper impregnated with resin. The sound is ringing and clean.

They are entirely handmade. 

The manufacturer Castañuelas del Sur engraves inside all the castanets whether they are initiation, professional or upper range.

These are beautifully made and they look beautiful with the red engraving. My professional Flamenco teacher says they sound wonderful.
