Description:

Bordados Foronda is the oldest house in Seville dedicated to the manufacturing of embroidered shawls. Currently, Bordados Foronda has made Manila shawls for the Spanish Royal House, as well as for other European Royal Houses.

The Manila shawl is strongly associated with flamenco dancing and Andalusian folklore, although it is an accessory of the dress, also used by the singers and, in some periods, it has been used as an everyday garment.

The production is entirely handmade; only the hands of the artisans touch the products, no machines participate.

Both the embroidery and the fringes are crafted manually.

All shawls are made from authentic natural silk, stitch by stitch, with all the love that our women from Andalusia can give, and finished with the unmistakable grace of the Sevillian fringe.

Composition: Natural Silk.

Weight: 0.695 kgs
Dimensions: 130X130 cm
Fringe: 50 cm (including netting)
Netting: 21 cm

PROPER CARE OF THE SHAWLS:

1.- Washing:
It should never be washed at home, always at the dry cleaner's.
In case a small stain appears, rub it with soap with a cloth under the shawl.
Afterwards, the shawl should be ironed.

2.- Ironing:
The shawl should be ironed inside out with a steam iron, in order to enhance the embroidery.

3.- Storage:
New shawls should be hung on a hanger covered with a cover and preferably inside a wardrobe.
