Handmade Manila Embroidered Shawl. Natural Silk. Ref. 1011035NGRJ
Bordados Foronda is the oldest house in Seville dedicated to the manufacture of embroidered shawls. Currently, Bordados Foronda has made Manila shawls for the Spanish Royal Family, as well as for other European Royal Houses.
The Manila shawl is strongly associated with flamenco dancing and Andalusian folklore, although it is an accessory of the dress, also used by the singers and, in some periods, has been used as an everyday garment.
The production is completely artisanal, only the hands of the artisans touch the products, no machine participates.
Both the embroidery and the fringes are made by hand.
All shawls are made of authentic natural silk, stitch by stitch, with all the love that our women from Andalusia are capable of giving and finished with the unmistakable grace of the Sevillian fringe.
Composition: Natural Silk.
Weight: 0.790 kgsDimensions: 135X130 cm
Fringe: 52 cm (including netting)
Netting: 15 cm
PROPER CARE OF THE SHAWLS:
1.- Washing:
It should never be washed at home, always at the dry cleaner.
In case a small stain appears, rub it with soap with a cloth underneath the shawl.
Next, the shawl should be ironed.
2.- Ironing:
The shawl should be ironed inside out with a steam iron, in order to enhance the embroidery.
3.- Storage:
New shawls should be hung on a hanger covered with a cover and preferably inside a wardrobe.
